
She trained in Cecchetti Ballet, ISTD Modern and Tap from the age of 8 years old and gymnastics from the age of 3. At 16 she gained a place at Kate Simmons Dance College and trained there for 3 years in Cecchetti Ballet, ISTD Modern and Tap, Flamenco, Jazz, Contemporary and Musical Theatre, gaining all her dance and teaching qualifications and performing in numerous productions.
On graduating Natalie was offered teaching posts in Italy, Norway and Cornwall. She decided the UK was the place for her and taught in Cornwall for a year before moving to North Wales and taking over the Gwynedd School of Dance and transforming it from a ballet school into an the all-round performing arts educational school it has grown into today, working with all ages from 12 months to adult.
Natalie has also been guest teacher for a number of dance schools in the North West and Wales and has had the opportunity to choreograph for a number of television programmes for S4C, along with choreography for other local performing arts groups.
Natalie is proud to be an accredited tutor for TEC Wales, teaching Agored Cymru programs throughout schools across Anglesey and Gwynedd.
She is also a Recognised Teacher with CDMT. (The Council of Dance, Drama and Musical Theatre) This accreditation shows that she is committed to putting the safety of pupils first and that she meets the scheme’s six requirements of good professional practice
Natalie works with Gwynedd and Anglesey Council on numerous programmes and events including Summer Schemes for Children & Family Services, Mental Health Awareness, Gwynedd events team for the Queens Baton Relay and much more.
She has worked closely with the Awyr Lâs team on numerous events in the city and is looking forward to many more in the future.
Natalie is also chair of the Bangor Community Group, which organises many events in Bangor City including Carnivals, Christmas Markets, Santa’s Grotto and ‘Santa’s Bike Belles’ Motorbike Ride for the community.
From Westend Academy, Natalie also runs a Community Skills Youth Club called ‘Hwb Westend Hub’ for the children in Bangor to help keep the children off the streets, allowing them the opportunity to learn new skills and make new friends. This was a dream of Natalie’s for the community, no matter what their background, a community group where money wasn’t an issue for the children or their parents, raising funds to help with skills workshops to help develop the opportunities for the young people to grow. Hwb Westend Hwb Skills Youth Club was established in September 2019.
Finally, Natalie also has the very important job of being a Mum, to her 4 children, all of whom love to be involved in all aspects of the school.
She is very grateful to Kian, Tommy, Nikki and Ashton for all the support, love and understanding they show her towards running Academi Westend Academy and is grateful that they love that AWA is one big family!
